Children are more sensitive to air pollution than adults, so it is important to protect their health. Indoor air pollution can lead to short- and long-term health problems in children, such as headaches, fatigue, allergic reactions, asthma, developmental and growth problems, etc.
The government therefore decided to make air quality monitoring mandatory in establishments catering to young children. This decree has been applicable from 1 January 2018 in childcare centres, nursery schools and other establishments catering to children under 6 years of age.

What were the air quality concerns at Les Jeunes Pousses day nurseries?
