- Grenelle II Act – No. 2010-788 of July 12, 2010.
- Decree No. 2011-1727 of December 2, 2011, regarding indoor air quality guidelines for formaldehyde and benzene.
- Decree No. 2015-1000 of August 17, 2015, and Order of June 1, 2016, regarding the monitoring of indoor air quality in certain public buildings.
- New Regulations for 2023 (to be phased in starting January 1, 2023):
- Mandatory IAQ self-assessment every 4 years.
- Formaldehyde and benzene testing campaigns at key stages (construction, renovation, and expansion).
- If the limit is exceeded, further investigations must be conducted and the prefect must be notified.
