The EOLIS Air Manager professional air purifier: the solution that respects regulations relating to the monitoring of indoor air quality in buildings open to the public (Decree No. 2011-1728 of 02/12/2011 and No. 2012-14 of 5 January 2012) on formaldehyde and benzene.
More information about the decree on indoor air quality in buildings open to the public can be found on the ministry’s website.

The EOLIS Air Manager was tested by Tipee, an independent French laboratory, to evaluate and certify its effectiveness on Formaldehyde (Formol) and Benzene.

  • The test was conducted in the laboratory.
  • The levels of formaldehyde and benzene pumped in for the test are above the guide values set by the decree.

Test protocol

The laboratory’s operating procedure for evaluating the air purifier was developed based on the two following reference standards:

  • XP B44-200
  • XP B44-013

For the pollutants being tested, the concentration values generated at the beginning of the test were:

  • Benzene: 31.1 μg/m³
  • Formaldehyde: 40.1 μg/m³

These harmful compounds were pumped in continuously.

Air exchange inside the test enclosure was set to 0.5 volume/hour, which represents the average air exchange generally encountered in dwellings.

The tested air purifier was positioned in an airtight chamber having a volume of 1,000 L.

The air purifier was tested according to the following conditions:

  • Speed 2 is engaged
  • The UV lamp is on

Results

Formaldehyde (Formol):

Formaldehyde purifier performance test results

After 15 minutes of operation of the EOLIS Air Manager professional air purifier, the concentration of Formaldehyde (Formol) in the ambient air was reduced fivefold.

This result shows that the EOLIS Air Manager air purifier can quickly and efficiently bring indoor air below the guide value of 30 μg/m³. This is the value currently in force under the ERP air quality monitoring regulations.

It also enables the recommended indoor air guide value of 10 μg/m³ to be achieved as of 1 January 2023.

Limit of quantification: Formaldehyde concentrations cannot technically be measured below 8.5 µg/m³. This limit is reached by the EOLIS Air Manager in under 15 minutes.

Benzene:

Benzene purifier performance test results

The air purifier’s performance makes it possible to significantly reduce the level of benzene concentration in the indoor air:

  •  By 85% after 15 minutes of operation
  • And up to 95% after 1.5 hours of operation

This evaluation of the EOLIS Air Manager’s purifying power showed its ability, within the test’s configuration, to reduce the benzene concentration to a level below the μg/m³ guideline value indicated in the decree on indoor air monitoring in public establishments.
